Barbara Masi, PhD, is the Director of Education Innovation and Assessment Initiatives in Arts, Sciences and Engineering. Dr. Masi oversees program assessment and evaluation for all AS&E undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Specializing in STEM education, she has taught seminars in program evaluation and student learning assessment at ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é and at national and international conferences. She has written program evaluation plans for NSF, Department of Education, NEH and private foundation grants including IUSE, GAAN, IGERT, NRT, Upward Bound, and PIRE. She is the lead evaluator on the 2015 NRT grant received by the Computer Science and Brain and Cognitive Science departments.
Chelsea BaileyShea, PhD, is Assistant Professor in the Educational Leadership department at the Warner School of Education and co-director of evaluation in the Center for Professional Development and Education Reform. In these roles she teaches program evaluation, oversees and advises students in the program evaluation certificate program, and serves as an external evaluator at UR and in the community. She has experience working on grant related evaluations funded by the national government, including current grant evaluations funded by the U.S. Department of Education and NSF. In addition, she has experience conducting evaluations with local foundations, institutions of higher education and local community organizations. Her background includes methodology expertise in both quantitative and qualitative approaches to data gathering.
