About the Speaker
Carrie Miller has been with Foundation Center for two years. In that time, she has provided training to communities in the Greater Cleveland area as well as across the Midwest. For the past year, Carrie has focused on developing trainings around proposal writing, corporate sponsorship and other topics relevant to the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors. Prior to joining Foundation Center, she served as Program Director at The City Club of Cleveland, the oldest continuously running Forum for Free Speech in the Country. Carrie began her career at City Year, and Americorps program. After two years of serving as a corps member in Cleveland, Carrie moved to Louisiana to help launch City Year Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina. There she helped recruit corps members and planned all of the site’s statewide physical service events. Carrie serves on the board of directors for Equality Ohio and the Hebrew Free Loan Association and on the Advisory Board for Brews + Prose, a monthly reading series that believes literature is better with beer. She has been a partner of Social Venture Partners-Cleveland since 2009.
