Our office provides advising for students planning to spend time abroad. All advisors are also academic advisors and work with students to help fit international educational experiences into their undergraduate programs.

Tynelle A. Stewart is the Assistant Vice Provost for Global Education and Executive Director for the Center for Education Abroad at the ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é. With a focus on advancing education abroad, she leads efforts to expand study abroad programs, international internships, and global partnerships. Her strategic leadership has elevated the Center to exemplify best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and engagement across the university community.
Ty has worked in the field of international education for over 25 years. As a steadfast advocate for international education, Ty actively contributes to shaping best practices in the field of global education. Her innovative approach continues to drive the university's international engagement, making her a key leader in enhancing global learning opportunities at ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é and beyond.
As a first-gen student, Ty did not have the opportunity to travel abroad until her professional career. Her first trip to Denmark was life changing and she now works to ensure access for all students that want an international experience during their college years.

Aleta has worked in international education for over a decade working in international student recruitment, immigration advising, student services and education abroad. Aleta caught the travel bug on her first trip to Côte D'Ivoire as a high school student and she continues to love travel for any occasion. Her current favorite country is Vietnam and her next bucket list destination is Iceland. Aleta serves as the main point of contact for international partners, student/family concerns, and overall operations for the Center for Education Abroad.

Ted has worked in CEA for over a decade and is an alumnus of the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program. Ted studied both Japanese and Russian as part of his undergraduate degree and is an alumnus of the Warner School of Education (M.S. and Ed.D. Higher education leadership). Ted has served various roles in CEA: from student advising to assistant director, and teaches a course for incoming exchange students. He looks forward to exploring more of Southeast Asia and really enjoys Malaysia. Ted is the main point of contact for faculty/staff interested in leading or organizing programs abroad and for global partnerships/agreements.

Rohan has over 30 years of higher education experience working in advising, student retention, equity and access, social justice initiatives and currently education abroad. Rohan is an avid traveler who spent 2 plus years backpacking around the world and has been to every continent. Rohan serves as an education abroad counselor, liaison to Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and Global E3 program coordinator. Rohan serves as a contact for students with general questions about going abroad and for students that have started their education abroad application.

Aurelia has worked for the ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é for 20 years. The last 6 years have been spent working in education abroad, advising students interested in enhancing their academic journey by spending a semester or full-year abroad. Aurelia has a passion for international travel and cultural emersion. Her last trip was to Barcelona, Spain, and Morocco, Africa. Aurelia plans to visit Cape Town South Africa next. Aurelia serves as the contact for students interested in learning how to get started with planning a term abroad.

Haerreem has worked at the ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é for over 7 years, specializing in academic advising, access and equity in higher education, Federal TRIO programming, and grant reporting. She is deeply passionate about supporting underrepresented students and has over 13 years of experience working with students from the pre-college level to the graduate and post-doctoral levels. Haerreem enjoys travelling domestically and also hopes to visit her home country of South Korea. Haerreem serves as the primary contact for anyone with data and systems management questions.

Zuri has worked for the University since 2017. Zuri likes to take at least one big trip every year. The best part of her job is working closely with students. Zuri serves as the main contact for the Center for Education Abroad and Assistant Dean and Director, Tynelle A. Stewart.

A long-standing resident of Italy, Donna became our on-site director in Arezzo in 1997. She coordinates all organizational, logistic and representational aspects of the ‘Italian Studies in Tuscany’ and ‘Experiential Learning on the island of Procida’ programs. Moreover, Donna is deeply committed to cross-cultural communication and understanding. Herlove story with Italy began during a semester abroad. Years later, she’s still there discovering stories about Italian lives and falling in love with them again and again. Her work as director of our faculty-led programs in Italy is a natural way for her to share these stories with others.

Jen has worked in education abroad for over 5 years working in pre-departure and re-entry programming. Jen got her first taste of international travel when studying abroad in Santiago, Chile and then spent six years living in Southern Spain working in ESL and curriculum development. Jen enjoys learning about other cultures through dance and has dabbled in salsa, tango, bangra and flamenco. She looks forward to continuing her global journey and helping students realize the full learning potential that exists in every cross-cultural experience. Jen works closely with our exchange partners and global visitors to the ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é.

Ava graduated from ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é Institute of Technology in December of 2021. She has recently joined the ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é community and is excited to help students explore all the available education abroad opportunities. Ava has always been passionate about travel, taking family vacations every year, but would love to travel more outside of the country; next on her list is Ireland. Ava serves as the point of contact for student engagement, planning events and marketing for the Center for Education Abroad.
