Dear students,

Welcome back! I hope the winter break was filled with relaxation, new experiences, and moments of joy. As we embark on a new academic semester/year, I want to extend a warm and enthusiastic welcome to each one of you.

The start of every calendar year always holds immense potential for growth, achievement, and collaboration. Our collective goal at the Kearns Center is to create an environment that nurtures learning, personal development, and community engagement. We do this by ensuring students have access to resources (i.e., advising), encouraging participation in the various events and programs the Center leads, and promoting authenticity in our space (the Living Room). To help you make the most of this year, we want to remind you of four key pieces of advice that we believe supports success:

1. Setting and Achieving Goals

Take some time to reflect on your academic and personal goals for the upcoming semester/year. Consider what you want to accomplish and how your education here can contribute to your long-term aspirations.
Our doors are always open to discuss your goals and help you create a plan to achieve them.

2. Seeking Support

We understand that challenges may arise throughout the year. Don't hesitate to reach out to your professors, advisors, or any support services available on campus and within the Center. Building a support network is essential for success, and we are here to assist you in overcoming obstacles you may face.

3. Utilizing Resources

The ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é and the Kearns Center offers a wealth of resources—from libraries and research materials to tutoring services and extracurricular activities. Take advantage of these resources to enhance your learning experience and broaden your horizons.

4. Engaging in Our Community

The Kearns Center is more than just a place of learning; it's a community of individuals with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and talents. I encourage you to actively participate in events, and initiatives that resonate with your interests and expand your worldview. Your unique contributions enrich our community.

As we kick off this academic year, let's embrace the spirit of collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement. Together, we can continue to provide an environment where every student feels supported, challenged, and inspired. If there's ever a moment when you need guidance, a listening ear, or simply a friendly chat, please know that our doors are open. We believe in your potential and are here to support you in every step of your academic journey.

Here's to a fantastic year filled with achievements, growth, and meaningful connections! I am very much looking forward to seeing what you (and we) will accomplish in 2024.

Good luck and have a great semester!
