Emergency Loan Program
The Office of the Dean of Students offers an Emergency Loan Program for all full-time students at the ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é. The amount available was recently increased to reflect the increased cost of living expenses and needs.
Eligibility: enrolled full-time undergraduate and graduate students
Amount: up to $300 for undergraduate students; up to $400 for graduate students
Purpose: This loan is meant to aid students with an unexpected expense or situation which meets criteria set forth by the Dean of Students and the Office of the Bursar. The loan cannot be used to pay off university debts. Some restrictions may apply based on student’s past payment history to the university.
To be considered, an interested student should contact Nicole Morrill, Assistant to the Dean of Students, at nicole.morrill@rochester.edu or (585) 275-2757 for more information and to schedule a time to complete a brief application. They will need to bring their University ID to the appointment.
This is a good resource for students who:
- Might be waiting for a first paycheck or aid/loan refund to disburse
- Have money on the way that is delayed for some reason
- Are dealing with a some type of unexpected circumstance
- Have a track record of paying their university bills on time
- Need a bit of time to come up with a plan, but need funds immediately
The loan appears on the student’s term bill and is paid off when the student’s funds become available.
