GTA Café
GTA Cafés are informal drop-in opportunities for graduate TAs to talk about successes and challenges of working as a GTA, learn from experienced GTAs, and meet graduate students from across AS&E. Cafés are offered once a month during fall and spring semester, typically for 90-minutes, and are planned and facilitated by Teaching Center graduate student staff and the AS&E GTA trainers. Each café focuses on a particular skill, need or challenge, such as time management or engaging students in discussions.
GTA Cafés are designed to:
- Build community among graduate students with instructional roles from across AS&E
- Develop valuable skills and knowledge relevant to the work of being a GTA
- Prepare GTAs for instructional roles and responsibilities as future faculty
GTA Cafés are open to all AS&E graduate TAs – past, present, and future. No need to register, just drop in! We look forward to seeing you!
