Blackboard Changes in 2022
Changes to Blackboard Information for Students!
Learn More about the Changes to Blackboard
On December 29, 2022, a number of changes were made to Blackboard. Changes include how the site is accessed (authentication), a significant makeover to the site's navigation pages, as well as the use of accessibility features.
Note, that no changes to courses or course functionality will take place, just the web page navigation surrounding the courses.
We have transitioned from NetID authentication to Active Directory. This is the same authentication used by UR Student and Office365. All users will be presented with an Active Directory login that requires selecting their active directory domain (UR or URMC). Additionally, authentication will require that the user is on campus, using VPN, or uses Duo. See the for more information.
Ally Alternate Formats will be made available to portions of course content.
We have moved to the newer, more modern interface for Blackboard. This interface simplifies the Blackboard experience, adds some new student facing functionality, and is similar to the experience in the Mobile application, as well as being mobile friendly. See this for more information.
