Reservations and Rentals

The River Campus Sports Complex serves as a multi-purpose facility which accommodates the students, faculty, staff, and community. The facility is available for limited rental to service special events. Students and R Club members can also reserve/rent racquet courts, locks, or equipment.

Reservation priority is decided in the following order:

  1. Intercollegiate (in-season varsity contests and practices)
  2. Intercollegiate (out-of-season varsity practices)
  3. Intramurals
  4. Club sports
  5. Varsity sport fundraising
  6. Other Students’ Association recognized clubs
  7. ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é groups
  8. Non-University groups

Semester reservations are welcomed and can be made starting:

Fall semester 2024:
  • August 6, 2024, at 9 a.m. for in-season club sports
  • August 8, 2024 at 9 a.m. for out-of-season club sports
  • August 15, 2024, at 9 a.m. for all other on-campus groups

Reservation Requests

Electronic requests for reservations can be submitted by one member of the recognized student group or department. A profile must be created for this individual, which can be done by emailing demersman@sports.rochester.edu. Each group can request up to two (2) two-hour practice sessions per week. Three weeks into the semester, a third practice may be requested. 

Every effort is made to approve requests, but space is not guaranteed. Please read your confirmations carefully as not all dates may be granted. Non-University Rentals

The River Campus Sports Complex periodically offers facility rentals to non-student groups on a limited basis based on availability and staffing. A description of the River Campus Sports Complex is available at our Robert B. Goergen Athletic Center and Brian F. Prince Athletic Complex pages. Requests must be made at least three weeks in advance.

2023-24 Rates

Fauver Stadium, Towers Field, the Indoor Field House, the Palestra, and the Liebner-Cooper Room all have a rate of $125 per hour. 

All rentals require at least one site supervisor ($25 per hour) for the duration of the rental. Depending on the specifics of the event there could also be charges for additional site supervisors, housekeepers, security, parking attendant, electrician, groundskeepers, or other items to meet the needs of the rental.  

Insurance

The ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é requires that all groups renting athletic facilities carry insurance meeting the requirements below with the ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é listed as the additional insured. Proper Certificate of Insurance must be in place no later than 10 days before the event.

Category 2 Requirements is required for events like baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, field hockey, lacrosse, track and field, festivals, and cultural events. 

Category 3 Requirements is required for events like football, swimming and water activities, cheerleading, carnivals, film productions, and gymnastic competitions.

Fitness Center and Aquatics Reservations and Rentals

Reserving Racquet Courts: Students and R Club members can reserve courts electronically. To create an account, please contact the R Club office at rclub@sports.rochester.edu. Reservations are limited to one hour playing time per day for singles and/or doubles. Outdoor courts at the Peter Lyman Tennis Center are available on a first-come, first-served basis unless reserved by programs sponsored by the Department of Athletics and Recreation.

Equipment: Recreational equipment is available on a daily basis. Present a valid University ID at the Central Issue window to barrow recreational equipment.

Locker: Lockers are available to rent near the Speegle-Wilbraham Aquatic Center and in the Hajim Alumni Gym (both located in the Goergen Athletic Center) for either one-year or by semester. Towel service is included. Rentals are accepted at the Information Desk. A limited number of day-use-only lockers are available in the hallways for personal use.

Aquatic Center Event Reservations: All aquatic center reservations must be approved by the Aquatic Director (gbrandes@sports.rochester.edu) before being confirmed. Please obtain approval before making an EMS reservation.
