  • Four years of basketball including the undefeated 1941-42 team which he led in scoring
  • Co-captain in 1942-43, set single-game scoring record of 27 points
  • Captain in 1945-46 after military service
  • Played soccer first three years
  • Led in scoring as a junior, elected captain for senior season
  • Played baseball freshman year
  • Belonged to Psi Upsilon, Chi Rho, and Mendicants
  • Earned a Master of Education from ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é in 1949

Post-Graduate:

  • Served in the Army Air Corps from February, 1943-October, 1945
  • Flew 50 missions as a B-24 navigator in the 10th Air Force, 7th Bomb Group, China-Burma-India
  • Awarded numerous military honors including the Distinguished Flying Cross with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Air Medal with Three Oak Leaf Clusters, and a Presidential Unit Citation
  • Played professional and semi-pro basketball for six years
  • Coached basketball and baseball at the School for the Deaf
  • Spent 38 years in textbook publishing for Harper & Row, Rand McNally, and Houghton MIfflin
  • Retired in 1986
