- Unrelenting defender and rebounder in basketball
- Freshman starter for the Rivermen at guard in 1944
- Played at Madison Square Garden to full house
- Left UR for the US Army in 1945-46 and played guard for the US Air Corps 9th Regiment All-Star Team
- Returned to UR in 1946
- Led team in 1948-49 as a co-captain
- Selected to the 1949 College All-Star team vs. Syracuse Nets of NBL
- Graduated in 1949 with a BA in History
Post-Graduate:
- Thirty-two year career as an educator and leader in the Spencerport School District
- Varsity Basketball coach (1951-57) and JV Baseball coach (1950-51)
- Instrumental in the introduction of interscholastic tennis to the district and was the first coach (1960-63)
- Retired in 1982
- Was given three student-yearbook dedications
- Co-established the Monroe County Athletic Association
- Inducted into the Spencerport Hall of Fame, 1991
- With his wife, Beverly Rose (UR '50) he had four children, Michael W., William, Nancy and Douglas, and has 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
- Passed away in December, 2023
