Warren Heard
'44
At ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é:
- Played freshman football and basketball in 1940-41 seasons
- As a sophomore, played on UR's record-setting undefeated basketball team (16-0) under Coach Lou Alexander, beating nationally ranked teams during 1941-42
- Enlisted in the U.S. Naval Aviation Program as a fighter pilot, and served our country from 1942-46, then returned to UR with wartime injuries
- No longer able to participate in athletics due to his injuries, other aspects of campus life became the focus of his efforts
- Elected vice president of the Students' Association
- Selected to join the Keidaeans, the University's senior honor society; and to Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society
- Graduated in 1948 with a B.S. in chemical engineering
Post-Graduate:
- Career with Eastman Kodak Company
- Advanced to the position of General Manager of Manufacturing for Brazilian plants
- Passed away in January, 2010
