Jody L. Patrick has been involved in youth, high school, and college basketball for the past 20 years. Prior to her years at the Flint Hill School, she served as a Division I women's basketball assistant coach for 10 seasons at U.Mass/Amherst, Cornell University, and Georgetown University. During her college playing years, she was a Kodak All-American, Honorable Mention Academic All-American, the 1982 NCAA Division III Player of the Year, as well as an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship winner.
Presently, Jody is the Head Coach of the girls varsity basketball team at the Flint Hill School in Oakton, VA as well as the school's Director of the Summer Sports Program. This season, she led the Huskies to the Independent School League (ISL) A Division regular season and tournament championships compiling an undefeated league record. In the postseason Virginia Independent School Division II State Tournament, the Huskies earned State Runner-up honors to St. Anne's Belfield of Charlottesville. The Huskies overall record of 25-3 has set a new school record for wins in a season. Two of the Huskies earned All-League and All-State honors, and Jody was named the 2002-03 VISGBA Division II Coach of the Year, in addition to the Fairfax County Girls Basketball Coach of the Year. Jody is just as proud of her team's cumulative 3.0 GPA, as she is of the winning record this year. For the past 3 years, Jody has also served as the Vienna Youth, Inc. (VYI) Girls Basketball Commissioner and coach for the 1st-3rd grade leagues. She also serves as the Chair of the PVAAU Girls Basketball Committee, the largest PVAAU sport with over 2,700 girls participating in AAU basketball from ages 10 and under through 18 years. In addition, Jody is general manager of the Potomac Valley Vogues, an AAU program in northern Virginia with 23 teams and 300 participating girls.
When her schedule has permitted during the past 4 years, Jody has also been a TV and Radio Women's Basketball analyst for the Big East, ACC, CAA, America EAst, Patriot Leagues, and most recently for the Washington Mystics of the WNBA. A native New Yorker, she and her husband, Dick Patrick (Sports Reporter, USA Today), have 2 children-Eamonn (11) and Shea (9)-and reside in Vienna,
