  • Contributed at linebacker, defensive guard, tackle
  • 24-7 career record
  • First undefeated football team (8-0) in UR history in 1952
  • Most Improved Player awards as a sophomore
  • Most Valuable Lineman award as a junior and senior
  • 1954 team co-captain
  • Graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in English with honors in 1955

Post-Graduate:

  • Earned an MA and Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the University of Chicago
  • Middle School/High School teacher and principal
  • Associate Superintendent of Public Schools in Philadelphia, PA
  • Superintendent of Schools in Ann Arbor, MI
  • Director of Laboratory Schools at the University of Chicago (1980-86)
  • Founding Director of Statewide Center for North Carolina Teachers
  • University of Illinois faculty (1991-96)
  • Retired in 1996
  • Passed away in November, 2003
