  • Started in soccer and baseball as a freshman, basketball all four years
  • Captained basketball as a junior and a senior
  • 1951-52 team was 12-3, recognized as best of the decade
  • Shot 88% from the foul line as a senior, setting a record that stood for 30 years
  • Founding member and captain of University's sailing team
  • Member of Delta Upsilon
  • Earned a B.S. in Business

Post-Graduate:

  • Lt. j.g. with Atlantic Fleet Amphibious Force
  • Spent the summer of 1955 in the Arctic, helping set up the Distant Early Warning (DEW) line of radar stations
  • Joined ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é-based Lincoln First Bank (now part of Chase Manhattan) in 1956 and spent 34 years in the operations area
  • Headed operations side of the state-wide VISA card launch in 1969 and subsequently served on VISA USA's national Operations Advisory Board
  • Managed Lincoln's corporate systems and operations statewide unit in the 1980s
  • Retired as Chase Senior Vice President in 1990
