  • Between the 1938-39 and 1939-40 seasons, he developed cancer, underwent surgery and radiation therapy. He returned to the team and played towards the end of the season
  • Awarded a baccalaureate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University in 1940

Post-Graduate:

  • Earned a Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering at Purdue University in 1950 where he specialized in Theoretical Physical Metallurgy
  • Worked for the DuPont Company and the Eastman Kodak Company
  • Vice President of the Bell and Howell Corporation
  • Director of Development and Engineering for the Instrumentation group of the Bendix Corporation, President and Chief Operating Officer of Kayex Corporation, and Vice President of the Soflens Division of Bausch & Lomb
  • Member of Sigma Xi National Scientific Honorary Society
