Course Development Grants
The ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é is committed to supporting instructors in developing innovative courses. The University offers several grants to help instructors develop or significantly revise courses.
As these grants have different foci, eligibility criteria, timelines, and application processes, instructors are strongly encouraged to reach out to the listed contact for advice and guidance about developing a feasible and fundable proposal for any given grant.
Teaching Innovation Grant
The Teaching Center offers a Teaching Innovation Grant, which provides up to $12,500 to help instructors create or revise a course that includes high-impact and resource-intensive pedagogies. The majority of the students enrolled in the course must be students in the School of Arts & Sciences (SAS) or the Hajim School of Engineering & Applied Sciences (Hajim). College Course Development Fellowship
The Teaching Center offers the College Course Development Fellowship, which brings together small groups of instructors to collaborate in developing, planning, and implementing their courses. There are two cohorts each year: summer planning/fall teaching and fall planning/spring teaching. Fellows enjoy intensive support from the Teaching Center staff and are each awarded a $1,000 non-salary stipend. The majority of the students enrolled in the course must be students in SAS or Hajim. Student Course Development Projects
The Teaching Center offers the , which awards instructors funds to hire an undergraduate student to assist in the development of new course content, learning activities, or learning materials. The grants cover six weeks of student wages, optional on-campus summer housing for the student, and up to $500 in material costs associated with the project. The course must be offered in the academic year following the summer project and must primarily enroll students in the SAS or Hajim. Community-Engaged Learning Course Development Grant
The Center for Community Engagement (CCE) offers the Community-Engaged Learning Course Development Grant, which awards instructors up to $10,000 to create a new course that combines academic learning and community-engagement opportunities for undergraduate students in SAS and Hajim.

Bond Family Foundation Faculty Scholar Grant
The Greene Center for Career Education and Connections offers the , which provides up to $5,000 for instructors in SAS and Hajim to integrate high impact, in partnership with a ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é-based organizational partner. Contact Lynn Donahue at lynn.donahue@rochester.edu with questions.
Open Educational Grant Program
The River Campus Libraries offer an , which contains a course development track among its four focus areas. The course development track provides up to $1,500 to redesign a course to include open pedagogy practices. Grant applications must relate to a credit-bearing course or to a program that supports impactful learning on the River Campus within the next two academic years.

Wadsworth C. Sykes Faculty Engineering Award
