Marian Ackun-Farmmer

Biomedical Engineering

Marian Ackun-Farmmer is a PhD candidate studying biomedical engineering. Marian talks about her involvement in diversity initiatives, including the student group Alliance for Diversity in Science and Engineering and STEM programming with urban teens. She says of her classmates from different backgrounds and cities around the country, “we all found a home in ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é.”

Madilyn Beckman

Technical Entrepreneurship and Management

Madilyn Beckman is a masters student in the Technical Entrepreneurship and Management (TEAM) Program with a concentration in optics. She thinks the University offers “a network greater than I’ve seen at any other school.” Learn about how she fully engaged in activities on and off campus to make her experience at ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é even better.

Biomedical Engineering

Arianna Cervantes is a masters student studying biomedical engineering. “My favorite part about the ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é is the students… my classmates were very open to helping me.” Arianna describes her transition from undergraduate to graduate school at the ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é and how both students and staff provided her with valuable support.

Organic Chemistry

Antonio Tinoco Valencia is a PhD candidate in organic chemistry. He describes his appreciation for the unique landmarks in ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é and the city’s beauty throughout different seasons “Even in the winter when everything is covered in snow, it’s very scenic. It almost seems like it’s out of a fairytale.”
