Level Three
Level 3 of the Medallion Program focuses on the implementation of all six domains to elevate your leadership style. To successfully complete this portion of the program you will need to complete the following:
- Level 1 and Level 2 of the Medallion Program
- A leadership class OR a specialization project
- The Level 3 assessment
- The assessment can be found on the Medallion CCC
- In the Level 3 assessment you will be asked to reflect thoughtfully on the following questions:
- What skills have you applied in your leadership that you learned from Level 1 and Level 2? Please provide an example of how it played
- How has your view of leadership changed during your time at the ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é?
- How does the practice of leadership impact others?
- What was the impact of your involvement in the project or class, on the campus, and/or in the community? Please briefly summarize your project or
Plus one of the following:
- A leadership class
- A specialization project
Leadership Class
For this class to count toward your Level 3 requirements, you must complete the class after finishing Level 1 and Level 2, but within a semester of when you want it to count toward completing Level 3. You must inform us of your intent to take one of the approved classes for Medallion Level Three prior to registration. Please send an email to medallion@rochester.edu to inform us of your intent.

- CASC 358: The Leadership Experience
- CASC 370: Applied Leadership in Student Government (fall)
- CASC 125: Creating Inclusive Campus Communities (fall)
- CASC 206: Community-Engaged Scholarship (pre-requisite CASC 202: Introduction to Community - Engaged Scholarship) (fall)
- CASC 304: Urban Crime and Justice (fall)
- *Depending on the number of credits of the class, you may have to take additional workshops to meet
Specialization Project
For this requirement students will work with one of the following offices or areas to assist with or create sustainable programing:
- Student employment (Wilson Commons Student Activities, Office of the Dean of Students, )
- Fraternity and Sorority Affairs
- Intercultural
- LGBTQ
- Service learning
Please send an email to medallion@rochester.edu informing us of your choice to complete a specialization project and which area you wish to complete the specialization in. You will then receive a response with the contact information of the person you will work with in that area. You must also submit a one-page proposal of your project within the chosen specialization within the first 30 days of the semester.

Level 3 Project
You will work with your project advisor to create a project proposal to be submitted to the Medallion Program Planning Team within 30 days of the start of the semester.
- Proposals must be created in collaboration with the student and the project advisor
- Proposals will be submitted through answering the questions below:
- How does it benefit the ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é community?
- How does it integrate all six domains of the Medallion Program?
- How do you plan to execute the project?
- What is the proposed timeline of completion?
- Project scope should require a minimum of 15 hours to complete the project (not exceed 25 hours)
- You must take lead on the project
- Project cannot be clerical
- Project must benefit the ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é campus and community
- Integration of all six domains are required to be in the project
- Project Advisor must report to Medallion Program Advisory Committee approval of outcome of project
Expectations of students:
- Meet with the project advisor to review ideas and create a proposal
- Meet with the project advisor consistently to ensure project progress within submitted timeline
Level 3 Incentives
Upon completion of the requirements for level three you will:
- Receive a Level 3 pin
- Receive a program certificate of completion
- Have the ability to join the Medallion Leadership Society
- Attend recognition receptions
- Be invited to attend the Medallion Program Reception
- Gain skills in citizenship
- Demonstrate leadership through creating positive social change
