Fall Leadership Training
Leadership is one of the College Competencies. Through formal and informal positions, everyone can be a leader. Students leverage the strengths of community to reach common goals and use interpersonal skills for coaching and development. Through a process of learning and applying skills, students can accomplish measurable and meaningful change.
Fall Leadership Training (FLT) aims to provide student leaders a comprehensive, collaborative learning experience that they can use to strengthen their organizations and personal leadership skills.
Learning Outcomes:
Student organization leaders will…
- understand the value The College places on experiential learning and development through student organization leadership
- know where to find policies and processes for successful operations
- be introduced to the Medallion Program and participate in one workshop
- meet their advisor and determine how to use them as a resource
- engage with other student organizations to consider their common purpose and collaboration

Who Should Participate
College Student Organizations are required to have two officers in attendance. See Expectations for more details.
Fraternity and Sorority Life organizations can have maximum of two officers in attendance.

College Student Organization Expectations
Completing the Fall Leadership Training requirements is crucial to the successful operation of your College Student Organization and it also satisfies requirements for the Administrative and Review Committee (ARC) and the Students’ Association Appropriations Committee (SAAC) for the Fall Leadership Training component of the Student Organization Annual Review (SOAR).
To successfully complete ARC’s Fall Leadership Training requirement, 2 officers must attend the training. If you are an experienced officer, you might consider inviting a newer officer to attend. Please note, an individual can represent multiple organizations if they are on the executive boards, but every organization needs to be represented at their advisor session.
To successfully complete SAAC’s Business Manager Training requirement, the Business Manager for each student organization MUST complete the Business Manager Transaction Training and Quiz and then attend the Business Manager (BM) Training during the Leadership Workshops. The Transaction Training and Quiz will be emailed to students with registration.
Please note, that a Business Manager can be counted as one of the two officer attendees.
