Athletic facilities

Current ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é students can continue to take advantage of the River Campus' athletic facilities throughout the Summer Session.

Visiting students can purchase an R Club membership, which includes full access to our athletic facilities, including group fitness classes, courts, and fitness center. R Club membership includes access to:

  • strength and cardio equipment
  • Indoor/outdoor tennis courts
  • Squash and racquetball courts
  • Three full-size, multi-use recreational courts
  • A field house with 200-meter track
  • Fitness classes
  • Intramural sports
  • The Masters Swim Program (if eligible), tennis/squash lessons (fee), and club sports (fee)

R Club members also get a locker rental with towel service, and a one-day guest pass.

Banking

JPMorgan Chase Bank provides full-service banking for the University community, with a branch conveniently located on the . Additionally, ATMs are located throughout River Campus, the Eastman School of Music, and the Medical Center.

Campus Information Center

The Campus Information Center, located on the second floor of Wilson Commons, offers a wide variety of services on the River Campus. In addition to general information, they can also help with signing out equipment, making same-day room reservations, and more. Learn more on the Wilson Commons Student Activities website.

Computer facilities

Computer labs equipped with Windows and Macintosh computers, printers, and other technology are located around campus. Specialized software is installed on lab computers for use in coursework. Learn more on the .

Dining

More than 10 on-campus eateries—from a full-service restaurant to a sushi bar and pizza place—provide food that is not only fresh and tasty, but, whenever possible, locally grown. Visit the for locations, menus, and hours of operation.

Food Pantry

Open to all students at the ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é, the Food Pantry stocks non-perishable items for pick-up during their hours of operation. Visit the to learn more.

Health services

Visiting and exchange students who will be studying at the University for eight weeks or more participate in the Student Health Program, which includes the mandatory health fee and health insurance. You will receive the same services as full-time ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é students. For more information, view the University Health Service's visiting students page.

Housing

On-campus housing is available for ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é Summer Sessions students, except for incoming first-year and transfer students enrolled in Summer Session classes. Charges for summer housing will be added to your student account or payment may be made directly to the Office for Residential Life & Housing Services. ID cards

Once you have successfully registered for Summer Session courses, you can obtain a student identification (ID) card. Your ID card is the principal means for identification on campus and is required for checking out books from the library, cashing checks on campus, and may be required for admission to various campus events, facilities, and activities, as well as provide access to residence halls, laboratories, athletic facilities, and other areas secured by access card readers. Your ID card is also required to make purchases from your Dining Plan contracts, vending machines and laundry, and campus convenience stores. To learn more, visit the Public Safety website.

Interfaith Chapel

The Interfaith Chapel brings the University community to celebrate their faiths and beliefs. The chapel is busy with study groups, prayer sessions, and services for a variety of communities. A schedule of upcoming services and events is available on the Interfaith Chapel website.

Internet

Free wireless internet access is available to everyone on River Campus. For instructions on how to connect to the ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é's wireless network, visit University IT's .

Item rentals

The Campus Information Center (CIC) has a variety of equipment available for the University community to sign out, including Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) lamps, sidewalk chalk, power banks, hammocks, and more. Stop by the CIC on the second floor of Wilson Commons or visit their website to learn more.

Libraries

The River Campus Libraries offer a world-class research collection, including books, journals, and databases, as well as a wide array of digital media, and a host of services designed to support the needs of students, faculty, and researchers. Rush Rhees Library primarily services academic departments in the humanities and social sciences, and is home to a number of special libraries and collections, including the:

  • Art and Music Library
  • Business and Government Information Library
  • Department of Rare Books, Special Collections, and Preservation
  • Rossell Hope Robbins Library, which specializes in medieval studies

Carlson Science and Engineering Library, located in the heart of the science and technology quad, supports the needs of faculty and students in the science and engineering disciplines. Mail services

Located in Todd Union on the River Campus, the Campus Mail Center manages student mailboxes, processes all on-campus student mail, and provides most typical mailing and shipping services. You can learn more on the Campus Mail Center website.

Please note: summer parking passes are not available for incoming first-year and transfer students enrolled in Summer Session classes.

Printing

Printing is available in computer labs and at kiosks across the University. Prints are charged at a per-page rate to either a URos (Flex) account or visitor account balance. For more information, visit University IT's .

Transportation

Buses and shuttles are free for ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é ID cardholders for certain lines. Buses do not operate on University holidays. For more information and the most recent bus schedules, please visit the . Safety

Public Safety officers patrol University properties 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The University maintains an extensive network of over 500 interior and exterior public access telephones located throughout campus. You can call the Public Safety Communication Center for assistance any time of the day or night from any of these phones.

In an emergency:

  • Dial x13 from any University phone
  • Pick up a Blue Light Emergency Phone
  • Dial #413 from AT&T or Verizon cell phones

An officer will be sent to your location right away. Local police, fire, or ambulance agencies will be notified as needed. To request one of our non-emergency services, call (585) 275-3333; a dispatcher is on hand 24 hours a day to answer calls.
