Additional Group Types
Advisory Boards
Advisory Boards are an additional group type listed on CCC. While these are not student organizations, they are entities where students play a leadership role on campus. Advisory Boards may be listed on CCC to capture the engagement of their leaders/members and to promote their mission to students and the campus community. Advisory Boards must request to be listed on CCC through . This form can be submitted by the student chair or the departmental contact of the Advisory Board. Advisory Board is an overarching term referring to a group of students who are providing student input into departmental activities so Advisory Board does not need to be in the official title of the group. Advisory Boards are required to keep their information up to date on CCC and will be asked to review this information annually.
Advisory Boards are sponsored by a department on campus and receive their resources through that department. Advisory Boards are not considered student organizations and therefore do not have to complete the same student organization requirements, nor do they receive the same . The benefits of an Advisory Board being listed on CCC include visibility, CCC tools including email newsletter creation, event check-in, and online forms, and the use of UR or the ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é name or logo. A full listing of Advisory Board opportunities will be available at the Activities Fair and the Advisory Board group type will be referenced on the list of student organizations. A department that sponsors an Advisory Board agrees to have their Advisory Board follow all University policies.
The goal of the event listing in CCC is to highlight and feature student organization events. Events created by departmental Advisory Boards in CCC are subject to approval and will be approved on a limited basis. Approved events will have broad campus appeal with a target audience of students. The departmental contact for an Advisory Board must be listed in the position ‘Advisory Board Departmental Contact’ on the Advisory Board’s CCC page in order for an Advisory Board to submit events to ensure all relevant University policies are followed.
Advisory Boards will be designated a WCSA liaison to navigate policies as needed.
Departments
Departments may request to be listed on CCC in the department group type using . The following criteria will be utilized in approving departmental requests.
- Units in the Office of the Dean of Students
- Departments with Advisory Boards
- Departments that advise student organizations
- Departments that offer services for student leaders or student organizations
- Departments that offer Medallion sessions
Departments will have access to CCC features including using an online form system that is familiar to students, event check-in (attendance tracking), and event creation. Departments must keep their information up to date on CCC and will be asked to review annually. Departments with CCC sites should be active participants in the College Programming Meeting.
