Fraternity and Sorority Fundraising Policy
The fundraising options available to FSA Groups depend on whether the organization is utilizing university resources or collaborating on an event with an Undergraduate College Student Organization.
University resources include but are not limited to:
- Reservations
- Use of CCC
- Event Supplies and Equipment
- Shops @Wilco (flex tables)
- University ticket program
- Alumni newsletters sent through University Advancement
Exceptions to Approval:
- Regular communication with alumni such as a monthly email/newsletter that includes a donation ask does not need to be approved via a fundraising form.
- If a fundraiser is initiated by an alumni group or the chapter’s national organization, it would not fall under the FSA policy.
- Example: An alumnus of Theta Chi is hosting a fundraiser to raise funds for chapter house improvements.
- Example: Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. is hosting a 5k in ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é for their national philanthropy and the local chapter is helping fundraise for that event.
Policies when utilizing University resources or collaborating with an Undergraduate College Student Organization
FSA groups must follow the Student Group Fundraising and Alumni Connection Policy as well any Undergraduate College Student Organization Policies related to Fundraising and Activity registration.
When using university resources, groups can collect funds in the following ways:
- Checks made out to the Fraternity or Sorority
- National Organization’s Crowdfunding Platform
- Shops @ Wilco (previously known as Flex tables)
- Credit Card, Cash, or URos
- University Crowdfunding Platform
- University Tickets
- Mobile Box Office: Credit Card or Cash
- Online: Credit Card
- The Common Market: Credit Card, Cash, URos
Policies when not utilizing University resources or collaborating with an Undergraduate College Student Organization
- Cash
- Check made out to the Fraternity or Sorority
- National Organization’s Crowdfunding Platform
*These options are not available to the three governing councils (MGC, IFC, PHA) and Order of Omega because their accounts are held through the university, thus they are always using university resources for financial transactions
