Basic Needs Hub
/students/support/
The Student Support Basic Needs Hub was created to facilitate the connection of campus and community resources for students who are experiencing a time of critical need. The hub provides urgent, essential student necessities, such as food, clothing, housing, and access to academic tools. Assistance provided through the hub is not intended to replace or supplement current student financial aid and it does not need to be repaid.

We partnered with a Legal Assistance of Western NY (LawNY) to provide a webinar about SNAP Benefits (formerly know as Food Stamps) for college students. Check out the recording to learn about eligibility, applying, and how to get help locally with your application, or view the presentation slides.

Emergency Loan Program

The Office of the Dean of Students administers an Emergency Loan Program, which provides assistance to students for unexpected expenses. These have to be designated as a true unexpected emergency expense (e.g., as a result of theft, fire, family crisis, etc.) and must meet specific criteria set forth by the Dean of Students and the Office of the Bursar.

Office of Disability Resources

The Office of Disability Resources offers a variety of services for undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty in the School of Arts and Sciences and the Hajim School. These services aim to provide an inclusive experience and equal access to academic content and program requirements. Our approach relies on collaboration among students, staff, and instructors.

Paul J. Burgett Intercultural Center (BIC)

The Paul J. Burgett Intercultural Center (BIC) is a joint venture of the Office of the Dean of Students and the David T. Kearns Center. It exists to promote cultural awareness and engagement, educate on issues of identity, culture, and diversity, and provide avenues for intersection and opportunities for collaboration.

The CARE Network
/care/
The CARE Network enables members of the University community to express their concern about a person, incident, or issue by submitting one of the following reports online: CARE Referral, Bias-related Incident Report, or Community Concern Report. Making a referral or submitting a report imitates a review process and/or coordinated response involving the appropriate individuals, staff, and offices.

University Counseling Center (UCC)

UCC provides a comprehensive initial assessment and an individualized treatments plan to our members of the ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é community who pay the mandatory health fee. Based on the initial assessment, a treatment plan is developed by the clinician that addresses the client’s unique needs and concerns. This plan may include recommendations such as, but not limited to: group therapy, workshops, brief therapy, referrals to community provide for specialized treatment or longer therapy services.

University Health Services (UHS)

The mission of the University of Health Service is to improve the health and safety of ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é students and staff. The staff of the University Health Services value caring for the health and well-being of patients, respect for diverse individuals served and excellence in what they do.

The Jewish Family Service of ÂÒÂ×Ç¿¼é offers many different basic needs services for the Brighton area and surrounding community. These services include programs such as the Brighton Food Cupboard, Brighton Your Wardrobe, Pencils & Paper Project, and Basic Needs Financial Assistance.
